We’re very sad to announce the CounterCulture Supper Club has been cancelled for the time being.
An exciting pop-up event showcasing the great talents of Niagara: Chefs, winemakers and brewers make weekly magic.
Every Wednesday between 6 and 9 pm, Balzac’s Coffee Roasters in Niagara-on-the-Lake is transformed from a charming cafe into a swish Supper Club, with well-known Niagara chefs taking over and serving cutting-edge cuisine.
Wine and beer are available by the glass.
Note: We’ve changed the format slightly! No reservations required, and our new hours are from 6 to 9 pm on Wednesdays.
Join the Club! (CHEFS, you will find the specifics of the event here.)
Tamara Jensen and Adam Hynam-Smith of El Gastronomo Vagabundo say: “CounterCulture at Balzac’s in NOTL was a breath of fresh air after spending a crazy, long, hot season on the food truck. The casual atmosphere and common love for food and wine (and beer!) created a fun, high-energy feeling all night. The opportunity to showcase menu items that we’ve never served from the truck was a rewarding challenge. Lauren from Gathering Niagara was a warm and welcoming hostess, and made sure everything went smoothly from set up to clean up. The potential for CounterCulture to foster a growing community of chefs and food lovers in Niagara is palpable. We’re looking forward to participating again, as guest chefs and patrons!”

Dec. 7: Kevin Echlin and the team from the Smokin’ Buddha in Port Colborne! Korean Bi Bim Bap, Vietnamese Rice Paper Rolls and Caribbean Tofu Pockets.

Does Foodsnark assume correctly that the food and wine prices are separate and set by the vendors, and that this is not a prix fixe event?
Ah, the Foodsnark is a kind reminderer: Some details were omitted, and will be added instantly. Thank you!
